Does anyone with Windows 8 recommend getting it?
The $15 sale ends on the 31st so I'm debating about getting it. If I don't get it now, i'll wait for windows 9.

It's really one of those things you have to try out first, I don't have any issues with windows 8, everything I did in win7 I can do in 8, there's also a change with the UI, so that might take some time getting used to, although there's no real reason to upgrade to 8 aside from the minor performance boost, the new start menu which some may find to be great while others not so much. The control panel also got some improvements, more specifically being able to monitor the network and hard drive usage of applications.

Well as long as you get Classic Shell or Start8 with it it's really just a faster 7. Boots faster and generally performs better, it's a god send for older computers.

With an SSD Windows 7 boot time is around 20-30 seconds. If you can't wait an extra ~15 seconds to boot up your computer, there is something wrong with you.
Honesty, humans and continual entertainment / gratification these days.

Well if people want to get it cheap now is the time. The ridiculously low prices will be gone soon.

Isn't only cheap if you've recently bought a new computer that came with windows?
That's all I could find. I would buy it for $15 but I wouldn't install it anywhere until compatibility issues are solved. If I wanted something faster than win 7 that required constant tweaking and modding I'd just use ubuntu

15$ if you give them your windows 7 license to "upgrade" from a recently bought PC (though it's a full installer ISO, can wipe clean and install fresh). I think the date for the PC purchase had to be starting from summer 2012.
Around 40$ for the same thing for anyone else.
The prices are going to shoot up to your typical windows pricing soon.

Price of Windows 8 > Price of SSD
And it doesn't matter if I can wait for it or not, there may also be other things which require a fast boot up. More productivity as well.
Honestly, cynical people these days.

win8 + SSD.
Boot time is ridiculous. Being able to boot up my laptop in about 3 seconds when I arrive at a client's office and they have a problem is awesome.
