Nexon's bug caused the potential loss of one level where it should have been a positive.
Two stones and the gold required for them will fix that.
Everything else was something you did, not Nexon.

Technically the people who failed with this stone should be given 2 stones as compensation.
People were promised a guaranteed positive, so if they already had a weapon at level 4 they would have gotten level 5 because of it, yet people whose stones failed now have a level 3 weapon, and giving them only 1 stone won't give them the guaranteed level 5 they were supposed to get. It would only get them to level 4 and even if they were compensated the gold, they might just fail again, meaning no promise was kept.
So it's either that or Nexon seeks out the people whose items failed and have the GMs replace them manually, like they did when some 100% repair event failed for some people.

2 stones assuming they fix the stones or provide a guaranteed success event.
With 2 stones given as compensation as of right now, plenty of people will probably just decrease 2 more steps.

They should just do a weekend of 100% success until step 5. It's not unlike nexon to do ridiculous compensation for their foulups, it's one of the only good qualities attributed to them.

did they have an event like this? it wouldn't be bad to see it again for compensation considering these stones are broken and we are planned to get more later on

I wonder if the stones were intended to make use of a new feature that's not activated in NA yet due to not having the Alban Knight dungeon fully-implemented, one that adds variable upgrade success rates.
The r204 feature set did get ~3 new entries that are still disabled for NA.

Ooh, I'll have to see if we get one of the new features turned on client-side for it.

A client side feature shouldn't affect it. It'd have to be a server feature, since success/failure is determined there. If it were otherwise, there'd be a ton of exploits to get 100% success, like the ones that were patched when specials first came out.

Rydian wrote on 2015-05-27 02:29
But that's assuming the client displays the percent the server tells it to?

Possibly. You could always enable all three right now and check xD

At first sight, it seems to be working correctly now:

So, absolutely no compensation whatsoever? Typical.
