Weird things that seem to lag you/lag for you, or just small issues/bugs that you seem to have.
So, to start this thread off, here's a few of my own, for the most part it seems, personal issues and stuff.
So recently I found my giant completely unplayable. Just about ANYTHING he did would lag horribly. Even hitting the hot key to switch weapons would lag him! EVERYTHING! Taking on and off parts of his outfit, you name it, it lagged. But none of my other characters had this problem. I asked around for help from friends but all I was ever met with was “Is it set effect gear?†No, no it’s not. “I don’t know then.†I started to think I had some character specific lag bull shit or something… I tested out my alt accounts giant who I hadn’t touched in years at this point but made sometime around g11 or g12, maybe g13. He had no lag whatsoever! None of the characters on that account did!!!
I rechecked with my giant..and found him still lagging…then I realized something important. What was I wearing? A bandit suit..? … Bandits lag like balls for me…I took it off, lagged for just a second just like before, put it in my inv…and hit the weapon hot key. No lag.
The fucking CLOTHES ON HIM WHERE LAGGING ME. :shoe: The god damn bandit outfit apparently is made of HD 9000 bullshit because that stuff just ruins the games performance for me. I don’t have to be the one wearing it, anyone around me that has it on destroys my performance…

Another thing I noticed. My elf on my main account has an issue that my other on the alt account doesn’t. As long as the 2nd arrow is fired, I get a jolt of lag. Crit or not. The alt elf, didn’t have this problem. The fuck is up with that? I even tried using the same type of bow, just a regular short bow, still had the issue.
Now I know elves have this…elf range lag thing apparently but I thought that was the fact that if you try and load normal ranged attack again by spam clicking it just doesn’t work. THIS I found to be a timing issue that elves have. Humans have it to, but the window to get it right is so massive in comparison. If you click at the right time in the animation, you’ll load ranged attack just fine and won’t have to wait as long. I thought THAT was what everyone was talking about, so I don’t know what the fuck this double arrow lag bull shit is, especially because only ONE elf has it.

Critical-fucking-hits. :gloom3: These things are my anti everything. I cannot STAND getting a critical hit. Now before anyone says “Turn off your crit settings!†No duh!! I’ve done that. Been there, done that. The problem is, on or off, I GET THE EXACT SAME LAG. It’s like the effect wasn't the issue, it’s how the game handles the crits. Good lord, getting more than one crit at a time is like death for the client. Hell just hitting more than 2 mobs with a multi hit AoE will nearly crash me at times. The hell is wrong with this game? (Or most likely my comp.. lol)

So I tried to hide System chat to reduce some chat lag at times. Good thing it DIDN'T HIDE IT AT ALL! :fail3: Wish we could at least hide ‘skill’ and ‘combat’ chat channels so I don’t do ONE thing and nearly freeze from the amount of training msgs I get spammed with.

And lastly, my human seems to have a problem with meditation (rank 8), at least that I noticed today. Testing to see if anything lagged him that didn’t my other human (they’re both fine thankfully), I used up a bit of mp. Before logging I turned on meditation and recovered some. Upon turning off meditation… My MP shot back down well over 20 to the number it was when I turned the damn skill on. I did this a few times and sometimes it would shoot back down all the way to the number it started at, or the number just above it. I didn’t test with a massive amount of MP loss because I was ready to log but..yeah that seems reaaaaally weird.
Small update. The 2nd arrow hit elf lag was fixed after I was forced to reinstall the game from scratch after this update. The reforge lag is still there. If you haven't tried it, I would suggest reinstalling the game every 3 months.
So yeah, what issues do you have? Do you think they’re character specific? Have you ever found a fix for your problem?

YEP. That's also the reason why outlaw spawns are way way faster if you mod those out.
About crits and system chat, aoe skill lag, etc and so on... those are all caused by font rendering. Using bitmap font (the kind that's enabled via .dll mods) and hiding names fixes it.
Also, having "hide quest info" unchecked will cause random stutter every once in a while if you have many quests.

You can block system chat.
Options>Game>Chat>Blacklist
Enter "<SYSTEM>", "<COMBAT>", "<SKILL>", or whatever you want to block.
I think you might want to consider upgrading your computer too.

My client catches fire when I open the exploration quest board. It's the worst part of lich sketching.

Might not be the reason for your specific issue, but I've noticed that having low MTU makes it take 1000000x longer.

OH GOD THIS. It's EVEN WORSE when you open it just as it 'refreshes' the quest list. Becausetheynevertookthatout

Same here to both of those. Sun Gates however, only in the g8 area. Not sure why...

[S]I already do that... lol[/S]

I actually tried doing that after hiding system chat failed. (That's what I meant in the post, should prob edit that...) But it didn't work...I didn't use the " though..that might be why..gona go do that and most likely have a better mabi life from this point on >.>;

You don't need quotes, but it's case sensitive and you need the <> symbols.

my MTU is at the default. It doesn't take a ridiculous amount of time, but it's the most laggy thing in mabi for me. I don't experience most of the other laggy things people are talking about, but that quest board is able to defeat my awesome PC.
There's 2 things for me:
quest board
logging into a character that was left near the engineering table in hilwen (takes a long ass time to login, and I load tara almost instantly...)

This is actually extremely noticeable on Elves and Giants, humans barely feel anything from this issue.

I WOULD BEG TO DIFFFEEEERRRR lol before I learned of this in the past, Mabi was un-fucking-playable for me on any character. XD When someone on the nation pointed out what to do to me I almost started crying tears of joy.
Seems reforges might be able to lag low end comps..

Commonwealth of Belvast. Looks like it's a programming disaster that ends up using much more resources than it should. I even skipped G15 just to avoid going there.

I used to have problems with this all the time on my human before I upgraded my computer. To this day I never turned quest info back on.

Glad to know that the quest info causing stutter (tons of untouched event quests) is something other people get too. I actually thought there was something wrong with my machine once due to it and spent a few days reinstalling Windows and getting everything set up again from scratch because of it. :\

The "you are here" icon is the cause for that, there's a patch to remove it and then they're smooth as the Uladh ones.
