So today i finished my regios X set, regios switchaxe, (up to the second last upgrade, need g3 stuff to finish it) and all i can say is holy christ, stamina reduction on dodges, an axe that self sharpens keeping it at purple forever, minds eye with axe mode and evade +3 (i have an evade +7 oxx charm and my entire set is dedicated to evade) make playing switchaxe feel like I'm the greased up deaf guy from family guy

Everything is smooth as butter and because of minds eye working with my axe and not just my sword FINALLY I CAN USE THE UNGODLY FIGURE EIGHT DPS MOVE WITH MY AXE AND NOT HAVE IT BOUNCE OFF OF SOME RANDOM HARD PART OF A MONSTER! Which was really my only complaint with swaxes, but i played around it by only using my sword and just used axe for recharging my sword, now i'm free to do what i want!

I have the single weirdest luck in history, all these 2% drop items that people bitch about, regios lens, contrary scale, rath gems, ect. And here i am still trying to get the basic mats while i get these dropped into my lap.

3 lenses before i could finish regios X set, like 20 rubys for no specific reason, 10 large wyvern gems from just going from g2 to g3, no farming and 3 contrary scales from my first ever 2 C magala's

But on the flipside, when i was hunting for simple stuff like horn breakoffs with 40% chance, I WILL NOT GET THE STUPID HORN OR TAIL PIECE FOR ATLEAST 15 RUNS

Whilst mind's eye is useful like this I'll just note that you want to get into the practise of not setting yourself up to hit such spots in the first place. Mind's eye won't prevent the increased sharpness loss or the decreased damage either.

In practice, not everyone's perfect. Mind's eye could have saved me many many deaths as a lancer. Poke poke poke slide poke poke bounce dead. All because a monster moved one little inch.

You "shouldn't" be hitting bounce zones, but you do. because no one is perfect.

Well there's also the fact the giant arc on switch axes figure 8 dps attack can take up the entire length of a monster so avoiding it is fairly hard if you're trying to get both hits, and well i use the seregios weapon, it never goes below purple lol

So, how to avoid bounces on monsters like Kirin, Silver Rathalos, and Apex monsters, when they have a fuckton of bouncy spots?

Mind's eye is still useful. I'd rather hit the wrong spot and dodge/guard the next incoming attack than have my attack bounce off and get carted instantly.

Darkblade; aim for the soft spots. You want to do that on things like apex monsters when you don't have a wystone buff anyway because a: mind's eye and attacks with innate mind's eye don't work on apex protection and b: apex protection means blademasters do 20% damage and ranged does 0. If you find aiming for the soft spots hard then practise practise practise.
