So I'm going to be doing stuff that might have to do with game development.
Thing is, I've kind of hit a roadblock on music. I don't know much about composing other than making simple MIDIs.
I've been able to recreate the sound of Touhou instruments through MIDI by using a method niconico doesn't want anyone to disclose*, but this isn't a Touhou Project related game, so that's irrelevant.
What software can I use to make video game music?
For now, I just need something simple. It doesn't have to be extravagant or realistic sounding. Later on when the team becomes more successful, maybe an experienced composer can help us.
Oh and if someone here is a good composer, that'd be even better!
If you're good at composing and want the Touhou sounds, just PM me. Just promise me you won't overlay an unchanged MIDI from another game with the soundfont, that sounds like magikarp. Be creative like yosiyosi.

Sorry, couldn't resist.
Reason is a great software but kinda pricey. You CAN get it illegitly though, if that's what you're willing to do.

No need to be a buttpirate.
Anyway, it sounds to me like you have experience with MIDI, but you want to go a bit further. I believe you should look into trackers.
MilkyTracker,
OpenMPT and
SunVox are some cool pieces of software you could check out.
