Sigh, really didn't want to keep the Week 1 grindfest up for as long as this.
There goes all my free time.

Nexon reworded the update. It appears it's only 50 tokens per reset, 150 tokens per week.

You don't HAVE to play, you know. o___o Playing casually is an option, and it's actually a pretty good option in Vindictus.

But the thing is, I enjoy trying to get the most AP possible (to some extent).
I can handle 10 runs a day (did 31 once before they fixed it), but I didn't have to due to previous limitations. Now I feel obliged to get more AP.
It's random, but that's how I feel about it. Not going to complain though (as this will probably shut up anyone who was complaining about the system, and there were too many of those).

You gave the wrong link. You linked
this instead of
this.
Also... looks like they ninja'd their pricing...
"30 Platinum Tokens = NX 6900" not 50.

I actually enjoyed the token cap, since I can't play too often, so I need something to hold all of you back.
3 Resets a week seems very reasonable though.

i find these tokens to be a real pain, and i dont understand how people are assuming you will spend less on platinum tokens and what not now, cause thats not true at all. ive been forced to buy these tokens now where as before i never even needed them, maybe i feel like getting the skill i want and playing with it today not when nexon allows me to.
i know its to limit people playing as well as forcing those who want to play only this game to buy these NX tokens, ive never once known nexon to really care, i find it really hard to believe that there is actually supporters of an idea that makes no sense other than to make money really.
i mean look at like this, clearly yea some people will be discouraged and want to play their same character and will just go do something else, others will just hop on another character that has tokens, oddly i find vindictus to resemble dungeon fighter online a lot more than mabinogi. this just proves it isnt about health of players but just to make more money, because its not stopping you from playing another character and spending more money on that other character say with avatar items ect.
business isnt that hard to figure out, they try to act like oh we care about your "health" so players think oh they care about me? so they implement this system when the system doesnt work specifically for health issues rather it works just for increasing nexons revenues within vindictus.
lol it also reminds me of tobacco company tactics throwing in all these little zingers and 1 liners to make us believe oh they really sat down hard and long and thought that out, thats a hilarious thought, this idea for this system probably took less than a week to figure out it would force players to need to spend more NX in order to get their character to where they want it in the time frame they want it in, done. now pay me. then boom ok guys lets try to make this sound more gamer friendly so it doesnt sound like we are a bunch of money grubbers like everyone knows us to be.
nexon has always been quick to solve any issue involving their money but when it comes over to service it takes extremely long to get a response, seems like it would be better customer service if they actually cared about us more like they try to claim, i just wish society would stop misleading everyone and just make it known we are out to take your money however we can, we throw in free but there is always a catch to free.
i enjoy nexon dont get me wrong they have some of the best games around that are free to play but they know that and they are well aware that they need to take advantage of that and squeeze every penny out of each game they are lucky enough to use.
id much rather prefer vindictus to be ran by Valve itself, like half life 2. every source game ive played has ran extremely well as far as connecting between players and overall server performance, i mean extremely well so much that ive never had a more enjoyable experience with people over a network through games, i literally actually loved those people in those games because they had so many great ways for players to just have fun and connect with each other.
i think the way nexon is running this game is really taking it down a notch, for 1 the server is horrible, every maintenence it gets better for maybe 2 hours then everyone is getting 1 bar and lagging again. and this has been with every maintenence this lag isnt normal by any means and is clearly on nexons end.
i understand it is a new game and it still needs work but i just know Valve wouldnt even have released the game until these issues were resolved if it was ran by just them.
i can only hope in the future maybe that could happen or possibly all the money Valve is making off of nexon know will go toward Half Life 3 which will be mind blowing im sure.

After you get minimum AP for all dungeons, you do have to spend crazy amount of Nx on tokens just to run those 3-5 minute polar bear runs in crazy amounts to get little amount of AP. If you just wait for dailys everyday, and do a few runs, you can still get a lot of AP without spending any Nx.
Sure you won't have like 15-20k AP or whatever before Boat 4 comes out, but it seems like many skills don't have much noticeable increases unless it is like many many ranks.

Bakuryu wrote on 2010-11-13 18:42
If you weren't limited on runs you'd max everything really easy, right now you need about 40k total AP to have everything maxed, consider there are a lot of people with 15k+ and some with 20k+
Most of these APs were obtained during the whole tokens-reseting-every-2hours thing. You'd be maxing everything in a month or two.
But either way I think they handled the whole token thing pretty good. I have about 80 crimson tokens right now, that I bought from marketplace with game gold, and I'm still making profits. I'm a hardcore player and I'm playing enough thanks to the crimsons and the three token resets a week thing.

what do they mean by increased by 150? dont they mean decreased, i couldve swore it was easier to get tokens before. i know they dont mean how many you can actually hold because you can still only hold 50 tokens at one time even if you say have tokens left over it still only gives you 50 which i kinda think is lame, sounds like AT&T rollover minutes, they only last until they reset then they arent really there anymore.
it would be nice if you actually could just collect your tokens regardless of the reset if you havent played in months you would have the amount of tokens that you wouldve used if you had played, not just for the couple days then you have nothing. oh yea then no one would buy nx tokens dur that wont work lol.

CBT - Tokens reset twice a week
EAOBT (Bugged/To let us test) - Tokens reset every 2/5 hours.
OBT - Tokens reset twice a week
Several weeks after launch - Tokens reset thrice a week
Nexon has to make a profit. Crimsons/Platinums allow them to do so.
Casual players would have a hard time burning through 50 tokens in two days, while hardcore players would make 2-3 characters or buy tokens from Depot.

even though it was only twice a week before i still dont feel its the same, i dont understand how i was able to level so easily as well as ranking all my skills i wanted and being able to get all the skills i wanted with the system that was giving out less tokens apparently then now.
why do us hardcore players have to be punished anyway, i cant afford crimson tokens with in game gold, at the most i can get like 400k a week but at the same time im buying new equips and weapons materials that leave my evie broke. so for me ive had to use my NX and still the people supplying them all are using NX. sadly for me i guess, i only like evie now, i have lann and other characters but i dont really enjoy playing them.
and once again im already out of tokens and once again had to buy more crimson tokens with NX, ive spent like 5k NX on tokens i never needed before, honestly im not trying to be difficult but from experience i know it was easier before, because ive never ran out of tokens so fast before. and i was in every phase and i played alot more than i do now.
but like i said Vindictus resembles Dungeon Fighter Online way more than Mabinogi, the only relation to me is Dark and Pally Knights, other than that every aspect mimics DFO. yea characters are there but they are way different too.
but i always hated the fatigue system in DFO as well so figures i really wouldnt like these tokens either.
none the less ill shut up about it cause it wont change or could even get worse from what they describe. like you said though clearly my point of all of this is its just about money and finding a way to get players to spend more money when they really shouldnt have to, i just hate how they make it seem like some elaborate well thought out plan to help with children playing games for too long. they could care less if we died playing Vindictus as long as they get their money.
them increasing the price of the tokens only shows thats all they cared about. if i like the game im going to spend money on it regardless, i dont need these schemes to force me to spend money i dont want to at the moment just because i love this game. im sorry but ive noticed with all of nexons games every cash items has some type of catch to make you have to buy more.
last thing, but in DFO when the avatar system came out i had no idea it was even random choice so i merely was happy that finally you can just buy the avas that you want without hassle little did i know i end up spending like 30k NX just get the items i wanted because they decided to change the avas system to those dumb gum ball machines that randomly spit out anything.
if anything it has discouraged me from buying more NX because it gets to the point of where i know i shouldnt give in to their deviations. i just never understood business tactics like this, they are only short term and in the long run will only discourage more people like me from possibly not even playing the game or buying NX again, why would you take that chance just to make a quick buck. its not like its going into the game, all the components for this game existed before it hit NA, so i dont understand where the greedy intent comes from, yea server cost but come on we all know no servers cost the millions they are making off us people, especially the really lucky ones who blow thousands of dollars on games like this within weeks. cant tell me thats not more than enough for server cost.

AP given by dungeons drop by 5 every time you run it, so the more you run a dungeon, the less AP it gives.
In addition, skills start requiring more and more AP to rank. This might be why it feel harder to level your skills now.
The reason why they created this system is so that they can make a profit.
A lot of people refuse to buy hairstyles and inner armor as they're temporary, most people do not see the need to use Goddess' or Merc Pots, extra storage is a one time purchase and can be replaced by mules and fishing rods are trash.
You do have alternatives though:
1. Buy Crimsons for 23k ea and solo Counterattack. Counterattack nets you ~21-23k a run.
2. Create a new character and play around with it.
2a. Get the new character to a decent level and use it to feed your main tokens.
